MEMBER OF NATIONAL COALITION "LITTLE DID I KNOW" TO APPEAR ON ROSIE O’DONNELL SHOW

Cooperative Effort of Work-at-Home Moms Changing the World

One Mom at a Time

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Eighty dedicated mother business owners across the United States couldn't agree more with the mission of LittleDidIKnow.com (LDIK) to "Change the world one mom at a time." These talented and energetic women are committed to operating their own businesses from home so that they may raise and nurture their children. One member, Jacqueline Houck, president of The Original Slanket (www.babyslanket.com), has been invited to open and introduce the Rosie O’Donnell show on Thursday, April 12, 2001 in New York City.

LDIK’s first coordinated effort started with five substantial and large boxes filled with hundreds of products from these mother-owned and operated businesses shipped to Rosie O'Donnell as a publicity generating effort. (The moms asked Rosie to donate the products to their favorite women's and children's charities.) Four of the mother-owned businesses are located in South Florida: www.littlebigman.org owned by Andrea Milrad, www.cribbumper.com owned by Laurie Wing, www.babyandtoddlergifts.com owned by Debbie Singer and www.mommabag.com owned by Janessa Benamou Wasserman. Each mom in this union benefits when another succeeds, and therefore Andrea, Laurie, Debbie and Janessa are looking forward to the organization’s appearance on a nationally syndicated show.

"LDIK is a large factor in our companies' success. It is difficult being one person trying to introduce a new product to the market, and a number of moms in the group have experience in these areas. They have taught us how to work with retailers, generate publicity for the product and most important, remind us that persistence will pay off in the end," said Andrea Milrad, owner of www.littlebigman.org.

LittleDidIKnow.com, an online baby gift retail cooperative founded by Darcy Volden Miller in 1999, is the first association of its kind formally organizing mother business owners to pool resources for national marketing campaigns that would not be possible within the budgets of these small businesses. In addition, these women use LittleDidIKnow.com to network, swap services and share expertise that would otherwise cost them significant amounts of money if provided by paid consultants. LDIK products were featured on the Oprah Show Women Who Love Their Jobs, March 2000. LDIK has also been highlighted in November 2000 BabyTalk Magazine and Women Connect.com, and will appear in several new books including Mompreneurs Online, HerVenture.com, DotCom Moms, Generation Mom and The Women's Home-Based Business Book of Answers, all due out Spring 2001.
